Young Thug Compares Debut Album to Kendrick Lamar and J. Cole

Young Thug is a great artist, but not in the same way a lyrical and deep rapper like Kendrick Lamar and J. Cole are. That’s why his latest interview done during his European tour with French magazine Les Inrocks is so surprising. Thug says in the interview about his upcoming debut album, HiTunes, stylized as Hy!£UN35, “It’s a pretty crazy thing in which I tried to make songs, real songs, not the quick stuff like on a tape. A dose of Kendrick Lamar, a dose of J. Cole, this stuff because it’s got to be an album and also a trick that goes into club.” I’ll be definitely interested to see where thing takes it on this one. Expect his mixtapes Slime Season Part 1 and 2 to drop soon, and ‘Best Friend’ even sooner.
