Soundcloud Diggin’: Episode 2 10/11/15

Welcome to week number 2 of Soundcloud Diggin’, our new weekly series where we dig out a few sprouting newcomers that need some shine from outlets like us to grow properly. If you want to be that cool kid that listens to the newest talent before everyone else, you should make this series a weekly read. This week’s definitely a different vibe from the last. This one’s less traditional and more progressive sounding stuff Make sure your speakers or headphones are plugged in and enjoy.

Al-Fatir

Al-Fatir

Leading off is Al-Fatir, a well spoken, attention grabbing emcee. His flow’s silky smooth and this rap thing just seems to come natural to him, at least that’s what this track “Right Now” is telling me. Give it a listen and I’ll keep you updated on more music from Al-Fatir as it comes along.

Irahnik

Irahnik

Literally pronounced as “ironic”, here’s an artist who calls Jersey home. Irahnik’s not as natural on the mic as the former but he makes up for it in other areas. The song I have featured is Irahnik’s newest cut, a bass heavy, electronic, Soulection inspired track titled “All Good”. Along with the thick production, this one’s just catchy. The kid’s got a knack for making good songs and that’s really the most important quality of an artist.

NOVA

NOVA

Next up is NOVA, an artist who especially on this song takes good use of audio effects and autotune to make mystical, off the wall music. This one’s self-produced, another testament to how well versed of an artist this kid is. The beat’s dense, layered and ever-changing. This one’s just tough and it really spells out how talented NOVA really is, the sky’s really the limit for this kid.

Steezefield

Steezefield

This one is just, oooohhh. I feel like I’m Big Quint right now. This is Steezefield, an artist who’s really bubbling on Soundcloud, well at least his Hotline Bling remix is. That’s got 2 Million listens but if you follow me on Twitter, you’ll know that I’m tired of those Hotline Bling remixes. I’m going to focus on his original music, like this new song of his “Steezefield” which has a much more modest 24,000 plays. But just like Hotline Bling, this one’s catchy as hell. The production’s lush and Steezefield’s vocals are crisp. This one’s going to get a lot of plays from me.

SwuM.

SwuM.

I’m gonna end it off with some beats as I’ve had enough vocals for today. This is SwuM., a producer whose beats really fill up every corner of the room just as a whole shit ton of water would if you were to pour it into that same room. Vibe out and have a good, relaxing Sunday.
