I had a chance to get an early copy of this mixtape (just like I did with his last one, Silent Films For The Blind), and wow.. just wow. There is so much growth and maturity with this project compared to Silent Films For The Blind. Not just with the lyrics, the sound as well, and I think part of that is thanks to Shawn linking up with Timbaland. I don’t want to give away too much, but this is a completely different sound from Shawn, and I honestly can’t pinpoint another artist with this kind of sound out right now. He’s the second west coast artist to do that this year for me (the first being Dom Kennedy with The Yellow Album, who is also on this project).
