Robin Thicke Debuts #1 On Billboard Charts With ‘Blurred Lines’ Album


A popular question these days is do hit singles still sell albums? Well, it appears that Robin Thicke’s hit single ‘Blurred Lines’ sold his album of the same name quite Well. Blurred Lines sold 174k albums in it’s first week for sale in the United States. To put in perspective on how much ‘Blurred Lines’ helped sell this album, Thicke’s last album Love After War was released in 2011 and sold 41k copies it’s first week.

In other news, Jay Z’s new album Magna Carta Holy Grail is near the 800k sales mark, Tech N9ne debuted #4 with his new album Something Else, selling 56k copies independently. Macklemore is inching closer to platinum, and J. Cole is still outselling Kanye West (so is Wale)
