Wow this really snuck up on me, the album itself will be released for sale on October 1st but we have the stream of the entire album given to us by Pitchfork a week ahead of schedule. Let me spew a few thoughts before I get out of the way. The artwork, the promotion, videos and all that leading up to this album were done well. The music has been done for a couple years now but getting all the marketing tools in place stalled the album a bit. It’s clear that a lot of money went into this album, The Lonely Island and Joseph Gordon Levitt are on here among others. The group was simply just an underground sensation and they are intending to be more than that with the follow-up album, they are looking be a spectacle, a spectacle that is leaving out the most important piece of the puzzle. That piece is the music. From everything i’ve heard up until this, it is nothing like the Deltron 3030 we have once known and it doesn’t look to be something I’m going to enjoy much. Don’t let my opinions stop you from listening but that’s just my two cents.
