Wale, Ludacris, & Jodeci’s 1st Week Sales

Last week, Wale, Ludacris, & Jodeci all release new albums at different stages of their careers and if you didn’t see the projections, these numbers may surprise you. Wale nabs his second #1 album with The Album About Nothing, which sold 90,391 copies first week (92,264 with streams). Ludacris‘ long-awaited ninth studio album Ludaverasl only pushed 58,330 copies first week (67,283 with streams), good for the #2 spot.

On a disappointing level, Jodeci‘s first album in 20 years, The Past, The Present, The Future debuted at #20, moving 25,129 first week (26,025 with streams). The album is solid, so I don’t think the music was the problem.

Some miscellaneous sales figures: Kendrick Lamar‘s To Pimp A Butterfly moved 52,366 copies (63,251 with streams) in the album’s fourth week on the market. The Furious 7 soundtrack had a pretty huge week as the movie hit theaters this past weekend. Sales increased 476%, which landed the album at #9 on the charts with 36,093 copies sold. Impressively, the album had 65,509 copies sold with streams, which is an impressive number.
