Google Play Music Launches Free, Ad-Supported Streaming Service

While it seems like every single streaming company is trying to move away from the free, ad-supported streaming options for consumers, Google Play Music just revealed that they are launching a free, ad-supported streaming tier for consumers. Listeners will be able to listen to curated playlists (think Beats Music/Pandora) & create auto-generated playlists based on artists, songs, or albums that they choose. Of course, you can pay $9.99 for all the good stuff with Google Play Music, but maybe you can try out the free-tier and see if its worth saving $10 a month. The streaming war continues to heat up, & in a few years we’ll be able to look back at moves like these and see if it truly helped.
