Madlib To Announce New Collaborative Album This Week

Madlib and his Rappcats team are teasing us a little bit right now with this new post of theirs. Madlib’s been working with an emcee on a project, his follow up to his great work with Freddie Gibbs on Pinata. He’s not giving us who quite yet but before the week’s over it’ll be officially announced. The project’s an EP with 3 vocal tracks and the rest just instrumentals and bonus beats equalling 9 tracks in all.

I can tell you now that the record’s called Trouble and it’ll be out at the latest this Friday. He’ll be selling physical copies of the record at two separate locations on Friday and Saturday. Look below for those details.

Where: Chicago. Friday, July 17. Madlib performs at The Mid, where he will be joined onstage by the MC (and it’s not you who think it is.) Records will be for sale in the venue, where Hit & Run will be live-printing the sleeves. TICKETS. Note: This show will be followed by Freddie Gibbs & Madlib at the Pitchfork Festival in Chicago on July 19.

Where: Los Angeles. Saturday, July 18. Rappcats, 5636 York Blvd, 12PM-4PM. We’ll have these records along with everything else on the Madlib Invazion catalog in a one-day record store pop-up.
