Soundcloud Diggin Episode 37 (September 11, 2016)

Have you ever wondered what hip-hop from Providence, Rhode Island sounded like? Well, you’re about to get a dose of it here with the ‘Silly’ remix. Code Green is the creators of this song – an eclectic trio that had me intrigued from the second I pressed play on this joint. Mix in some greatness from King Mez & this track has the recipe for success. – malbin

New Orleans artist James Seville has a real dope track on his hands with ‘Surreal.’ The track was originally produced by Samurai Del but the track was remixed by Blake Edward Jr. and features a new verse from MMG’s Rockie Fresh. The production was already pretty crazy on the original but this track was all-around taken to the next level. – malbin

The second I heard this joint I had to accept it from the production alone. James Tillman addresses his music as ‘silk noise’ and god damn I might have to agree with him 100% on that claim. The production is silky, the vocals are soulful, and the all around vibe is just right on point. ‘Human Behavior’ is going to be on repeat for me for a while and all ears will be on Tillman for every release from here on out. – malbin

Chicago producer Lasko released his latest EP Float and it’s definitely something to check out if you’re interested into high energy tracks with hip-hop drums & vocal samples. The project as a whole feels very lush and honestly, I could could hear a lot of these tracks on the soundtrack for Dance Dance Revolution. Talk about nostalgic. – malbin

Louis Val was an artist I discovered on Soundcloud awhile ago but the first song I heard made his potential clear but his sound wasn’t quite there yet. I was reminded of the Toronto teen again this week and I was blown away by this new track right here. The production’s simple but it serves its purpose, creating an airy, ambient vibe. It allows Louis Val lay down some beautiful melodies throughout this three minute journey. Take a listen to the track above and definitely expect to hear a lot more from him soon. – Trixx
