Earlier this year, Manila Grey compiled a handful of their singles and released their EP No Saints Under Palm Trees. They returned to the scene this week with a follow up single to that EP titled ‘Midnight’. The overall sound of this track isn’t much different from their previous releases but you can definitely hear the sound becoming more developed with each release. The performance is getting sharper and the production is continuing to hit harder. In a time where this type of late-night, mellow R&B with production featuring hard-hitting drums is becoming oversaturated, it’s great to say (and hear) artists like Manila Grey with their own edge that’s helping them stick out.
