Riz La Vie – Cinch

It took me until late this year to really get into New Yorker Riz La Vie‘s music. I’d heard then name floating since last year, but he continued to rise while my ears remained ignorant to exactly what he was doing. Thankfully, I’m very much hip to the hard to categorize artist. He’s rap but he’s not, he’s rock but he’s not, he’s R&B but he’s not. There’s no real label for him but his music is definitely passionate and raw.

This past Friday was the most inactive New Music Friday of the year, as the music industry is basically closed down and everyone is enjoying the holidays and basking in the final days of 2018. Riz was able to squeeze in one new single before that came to end however with “Cinch”. This song is more rap than most of his other stuff as he rides over a hi-hat sputtering trap beat courtesy of Dan Hartzog and David Morse. Take a listen below.
