This song’s been out for 9 months but sometimes a song is so good that I just have to share it with everyone I can. I can’t get over “We Had It All” from mysterious Cali duo Motel 7. They dropped 4 songs from late 2017 to early 2018 and the 3rd of the 4 was this one, which I think is by far the standout. There’s a rawness to their sound, a couple talented kids really honing in on their sound but I think this song is incredible for a bevy of reasons. It reminds me of early abhi//dijon records, the minimal R&B vibes over slick acoustic guitar looped production. And of course, the powerful lyrics and this song is especially potent. They’ve got more music coming soon thankfully but feel free to join me in playing the fuck out of this song.
