Prolific Washington D.C. lyricist, Ankhlejohn, self-pronounced “Uncle John”, comes through with a visceral 11 track project that will leave you freezing cold, literally. After releasing a whopping five full length projects in 2018, Ankh’s frigid, piercing delivery isn’t getting old. The third track, “No Features”, makes it glaringly obvious that Ankh doesn’t need help from anyone or anything to get his point across. John’s flows on A-Cold-World consistently made me do a double take for seemingly every other bar. I kept asking myself, “did he really just say that”?? On his fifth project, Ankhlejohn’s sound is fully formed and with this album he brings you right onto the frontlines of his personal fronto-smoking, puffy-jacket wearing, DC battlefront.
