It looks like Detroit is having a bit of a resurgence. There was obviously Tee Grizzley that popped a few years ago but we’ve also had Sada Baby recently and now Baby Smoove could very easily be next. Smoove’s got a high work ethic and an intangible rap charisma that is such a must from an artist. He’s got “I don’t know why I love this song, but I love this song” energy to me, mostly thanks to his remarkable slow/lazy flow. There’s just something infectious about so much of his music and “Sixty (Melo)” is the prime example of that. This is the song that’s growing fast and could definitely be a big thing.
