A very underrated part of scouting for new music is the inherent mystery that arises from finding an uber talented artist that only has one or two songs out and the rest of their career or activity is very cryptic. Judah Cheong is a delightful example of this sort of thing. The New Orleans based artist only has one 2:04 minute song entitled “Girl Golden” out on DSPs that is mostly instrumental except for an angelic vocal stint towards the end of the track. “Girl Golden” features some astonishingly pretty chord voicings on guitar and then shifts to a really impressive string and piano arrangement to accompany Judah’s vocal melody. I can’t wait for new music from this New Orleans mystery but stay in tune and if anything comes out we’ll be sure to post it
