I don’t know if we’re giving Nigeria’s music scene quite the recognition it deserves but slowly it seems to be getting its due, with acts like Burna Boy, Rema and Santi really crossing over and making big dents in the U.S. and Odunsi (The Engine) absolutely deserves to be the next in that line. He has such a way with harmonies, with a rap-tinged sound that really doesn’t even sound foreign, it fits right into the U.S. landscape but with some undeniable afropop flavors. This EP is such a beautiful, cohesive listen so find a few minutes today to lock into this and enjoy.
