Cap'n Marble
Song For Ella

I wasn’t searching for a nostalgic, 60s sounding psychedelic-leaning rock duo today but I couldn’t have been happier to stumble upon them. Cap’n Marble is the duo made up of John Dasilva and Ryan Arshonsky, both of whom met while attending Berklee School of Music. It’s truly no surprise that they’re Berklee students by how complex and finely tuned their sounds are. The duo’s newest song “Dear Ella” may just be their most nostalgic sounding yet, it has hints of The Beatles and other bands in that space around the 60s. Cap’n Marble harnessed the energy from that era, added their spunk and made it feel refreshing and new. And as I alluded to above, the sound design on this song is so damn crisp and it’s a big part of what gives it the nostalgic feel. You simply can’t miss this one or what these Southern California kids are doing. They’re making some damn beautiful music.
