On top of the angsty vocals and thumping production, Patchymate holds a pen game that elevates him past a lot of his peers. And don’t let the fat 808s fool you, “Apathetic” finds its way through its beginning moments with a chill feel. Similar to brakence, Patchymate really has an opportunity to carve out a spot in this ever-encompassing “Hyperpop” umbrella due to his unique voice and knack to slam out straight ear-candy for hooks. With his catalogue only becoming more impressive, Patchymate is a name I wouldn’t forget.
