Just a few short weeks ago, singer-songwriter Michal Leah began to market her unreleased single “The Way I Love You” on TikTok, encouraging people to use the sound on videos with their significant other. The song rapidly struck a chord with romantics all over the world. Leading up to its release, the track already picked up over 5,000 sound uses and tens of thousands of pre-saves. And for good reason.
Michal graduated high school just last year, and yet “The Way I Love You,” out everywhere today, is such an earnest expression of love. Her vocals sound polished and vintage—reminiscent of Lake Street Dive—and she really turns it up a notch on the bridge. With simple yet poetic lyrics like, “I don’t love anyone the way I love you,” “The Way I Love You” was tailor made for a slow dance at a wedding.
“The Way I Love You” could be the track that pushes the Vernon Hills, IL native into the mainstream. Unsurprisingly, it hit New Music Friday and per a recent update on Michal’s Instagram story, has picked up 100,000 release day streams and counting. Not to mention Michal was added as an opener for Eloise’s North America tour and already has her next opening slot lined up with Stela Cole in November. The sky is the limit for the young artist.
