Jersey native, Max Volante, is the definition of therapeutic and controlled chaos, sonically. His second release of 2023, “lust & found” feels as if a 1960s ballad crossed paths with hyperpop, indie-rock, and dark pop. Blending genres comes seamlessly for Volante, and it’s never been more clear than in this song.
Max is a natural troubadour, but not the sappy kind. One that opens a window for realism, and his own genre. The self-produced track features his infectious cadences, mesmerizing harmonies, and flares of perfectly played piano. This is the type of song artists bring their producers to recreate.
The song feels like a modern interpretation of a Waltz. The tasteful choices in the beginning of the song, progresses with a chant, as Max sings, “It’s going down…” eventually leading to a mellow ending. The bursts of lustrous, stacked vocals are flawless, and only add to the richness of the song. Volante is someone to keep an eye on in 2023.
