Fresh out of Houston, The Backroom Rumors’, debut single “Rubber Band” is a shoegaze-twinged daydream written about coping mechanisms and unmet expectations. Lily Pesikoff on drums and vocals is only a freshman in college, but she’s been playing since second grade and promises to be an artist you’re gonna wanna remember. Her voice has this hollow grit to it that softens the electric strings like butter, not to mention, a free-wheeling and deliciously abstract riff from guitarist Bo Farnell.

This is a band built on childhood bonds with some members playing together as far back as eighth grade. With a voracious fan base back home in Houston and killer live circuit, this debut is long awaited. Pesikoff is expanding her horizons as an LA-based student and musician who’s quickly gaining traction in a whole new territory. “Rubber Band” is the first you’ll hear from The Backroom Rumors, but it certainly won’t be the last.
