Our favorite best case girl, Beeson, released her “Dear John”
Originally from Arizona, Beeson has a knack for compelling story-lines, and captivating all under the umbrella of alternative- indie. “Swimmer” dives into the ocean of coming of age tales whilst also splashes into themes of self reflection in all – too – well known situations. Beeson takes off the life-jacket and continues swimming in vulnerability throughout the song. Beeson sings, “I could love you baby, but I don’t have the time,” reflecting on the self-imposed restrictions of wanting to be with someone. Beeson’s instincts in song composition have as much depth as they have intention- creating a whole immersive listening experience rather than a passive one. Whether it’s a hooky- chant-y bridge you scream-sing with your friends on the I-5, to the verse you pick-a-part word by word, comparing your life’s story to the song.
“I wanna be a big star” Beeson sings, and she will be! Catch Beeson at Kilby Court in Salt Lake next month!
