It’s not often I’ve come across a Bergen County-native making waves in the rap scene, but when I first gave NBTALENTED’s “Watermelon Wock” a listen, I knew I had write about the song. Nile Bullock, who goes by his stage name NBTALENTED, is from Teaneck, NJ just outside of New York City. According to his Soundcloud, he is not just a SoundCloud rapper, he is a singer, and I truly can hear that. NBTALENTED’s melodic vocals grace the tracks beat, almost blending in with the production at times. The track itself is self-produced and written by Nile. He raps about “counting up pesos,” and having “watermelon in his Wockhardt,” which make up a chorus that is bound to get stuck in your head. The vocals of the track create such a catchy tune that make NBTALENTED a must-listen, someone whose discography you want to parse through.

“Watermelon Wock” is the 6th single that NBTALENTED has dropped thus far in 2024, with others like “UP!” and “4U” being some favorites of mine. I’m glad to have come across an artist who grew up just a town over from where I did, and I’m excited to see the evolution of NBTALENTED’s music as he continues to drop throughout 2024. I must say, NB, you are definitely TALENTED.
