Columbia, South Carolina native Britton Rauscher never leaves the people starved for content. He first came on our radar last year and since he’s dropped an album, two EPs and now he’s building momentum for the release of his upcoming DIRT CHEAP album. With an aggressive rollout plan that involves a new single every Wednesday for six consecutive weeks along with a music video and performance video for each track, Rauscher is clearly going all in on this project and there’s never been a better time to be listening.
His latest release “ROLL CALL” blends silky production, sultry, subdued vocals, and mellow beats into a buttery melodic rap daydream. Which is the common sentiment with Rauscher song; some songs may stick to your ribs harder than others but every new tune is always buttery and delectable.
Rauscher is a close collaborator of fellow South Carolina group Current Blue. He’s already worked with them on his biggest single to date “left4dead” and DIRT CHEAP promises yet another Current Blue feature on the album. The rollout of this project has kept my eyes fixed on Rauscher. With every single, I keep thinking he’s gonna plateau, when really he just keeps peaking. “ROLL CALL” is effortless, enigmatic, and captivating to the point that we’re all hungry for Rauscher’s next track and he’s keeping us fed every Wednesday.
