We’re huge fans of Mati, the Ethiopia born and Minneapolis based artist with a really beautiful melodic rap sound. We playlisted his song “chicken noodle soup” off his 2024 album Berhane’s Son, but we’re just getting to covering him on the ole blog with his new release “still fed”. The reflective songwriting and confident performance really helps amplify the airy, drumless soundscape into something that feels big. We’re sure there’s more material to come this year, so we’ll be all ears when it comes.
