sleepazoid is yet another alt-rock gem from the land down under. The five-piece Australian outfit combines shoegaze reminiscent riffs with lyrics that transport you to a house show they might’ve played at. Their latest single “3AM” captures the end of night blues and how a single moment can change everything. From the gin in her cup to the Irish goodbye she’s building up the strength for, the lyrics of “3AM” are intensely vivid.

There’s an interesting contrast at play between the dull, melodic verses and the cathartic choruses. The chorus represents a moment at the party where everything finally falls into place. We jump from the chill in the air and achingly surface-level conversations at the verses, to the euphoric high of feeling seen by someone you desire.
