Last week was a very busy week for new releases. J. Cole led the pack with his 4 Your Eyez Only, which had one of the top debuts of 2016 and the best of his career.

4 Your Eyez Only easily debuted at #1 with 377,529 copies sold. With streams and TEA added, Cole moved 511,039 units. For perspective, Cole’s debut album Cole World: The Sideline Story sold 218,000 copies, Born Sinner sold 297,000 copies, and 2014 Forest Hills Drive sold 353,000 copies first week. Streaming was not as relevant back then as it is today, so the fact that Cole added nearly 150k units in streams makes this release even more impressive.

Post Malone also released his debut album Stoney last weekend. The album sold 20,142 copies and moved 59,459 with streams & TEA.

Other notable releases were from Ab-Soul & Charles Hamilton. Ab-Soul was able to move 11,303 copies of Do What Thou Wilt and 18,768 with streams & TEA, while Charles Hamilton moved 535 copies for his barely promoted debut album Hamilton, Charles.
