Kanye West’s ‘The Life Of Pablo’ Becomes First Platinum Streaming-Only Album

Kanye West’s rollout for The Life of Pablo may have been a mess but the album has racked up some serious accolades. The album became the first streaming-only number one album the week it was released and also picked up a few Grammy nominations last year. Today, the RIAA has announced that The Life of Pablo has become the first streaming-only platinum album. That is one hell of an accomplishment given the lack of traditional promotion for the album. The album has been streamed over three billion times to date thus far.

With Chance The Rapper‘s Coloring Book surely right behind TLOP, this is only the beginning of albums going platinum strictly off streams. Congrats to ‘Ye, Def Jam, and the entire G.O.O.D. Music team.
