Kevin Gates Threatens to Leak ‘Murder For Hire 2’ Mixtape

Kevin Gates tweeted yesterday that his label won’t let him put out a new album until next year, so he is threatening to leak his new mixtape Murder For Hire 2. The first Murder For Hire mixtape was released last May, so the timing is about right for the new one to drop, but with how well his debut retail album ISLAH performing commercially, it makes sense that Atlantic does not want him to drop anything for a while. ‘2 Phones’ is still rising on both radio formats and on the charts, while it appears the album has at least another radio single or two left to be promoted. Atlantic does not want to oversaturate the market and that might be in the best interest for Gates’ career.
