Future’s Self-Titled Album Debuts at #1

Future released his surprise self-titled album last week and to no surprise, the album’s first week sales were extremely commendable.

The self-titled set bowed at number one with 139k in sales plus streaming units (56,865 in pure sales). Those numbers are pretty impressive for a digital only release that came on 72 hours notice and no prerelease singles. 13 of the 17 tracks on the album were on the top 50 most streamed songs list for the past week. That is really insane.

It will be interesting to see how many units HNDRXX – his second album in as many weeks – moves. The streaming should be right on line with his self-titled but the pure sales will be the real question. One has to assume a double-disc will be coming for the two albums.

In other releases, we have some surprises. Charlie Wilson‘s latest album In It To Win It debuted at #4 with 51,211 SPS units with a shocking 49,406 in pure sales. Uncle Charlie is still moving those units! Jidenna‘s debut album The Chief debuted at #32 with 14,347 SPS units and 8,655 pure sales, while Fat Joe & Remy Ma‘s collaborative set Plata O Plomo sneaks into the top 50 with 11,158 SPS units and 7,978 in pure sales.
