As we’ve highlighted many times over the past few years, it feels as if Australia is just pumping out exciting new artists. Every month, it feels like we’re covering or playlisting something exciting from Down Under, and we have another new artist for you today. yergurl has been releasing music since 2019, but she’s a freshly independent artist and in the middle of a rollout of her upcoming project. “a lil bit” caught my attention, largely because of the song’s production. There’s hints of 80s inspired horrorcore and modern alt-pop in the sound, and a really cool aspect of this song is that yergurl handles all the production and writing herself. With her new project due out at the top of 2024, be sure to keep an eye out for a few more singles before then.
