This week, two big urban releases hit the market, as Lil Durk released his debut retail album Remember My Name and Dom Kennedy dropped off his “third” digital-retail album By Dom Kennedy. Durk is set to sell 25-28k copies first week (28-32k with streams), while Dom is set to sell 24-27k first week (25-28k with streams). Keep in mind Dom is releasing his independently and only on digital retailers, while Durk’s is a full major label release. We want to see both artists succeed, so hopefully the back end sales with the major label push can help Durk have a successful first release.
