There’s certainly still a growing trend towards “Dance Music” and especially in utilizing upbeat, Drum n Bass, Pinkpantheress-esque drums. But I sincerely don’t know if I’ve heard that type of production utilized quite the way spiderblush does it. The Florida native has released a slew of songs this year, 11 to be exact, essentially one for every single month. And while there’s a distinct differences and experimentations within each, the thesis typically revolves around a sad theme and vocal delivery, but with upbeat, dance-driven production. Especially combining two oxymoronic opposites as such is a not an easy feat to accomplish and make sound good, but spiderblush has truly done it.
