Chance The Rapper is notably a social activist in his native Chicago and he makes all of his actions very public. He publicly reached to Illinois governor Bruce Rauner to talk about public school funding and he took to social media afterward to report that it hadn’t gone well.
Thus, Chance took what he could into his own hands and just announced today that he’s donating $1 Million of his own money to Chicago Public Schools. He announced this just now to a Westcott Elementary School which he streamed on Instagram live.
